Ah, I got there in the end. Seems my timing was off, and using the right option key might have helped.

Still can’t boot from CD though. I think the drive may be flaky. Ordered a PCMCIA-CF adapter to try booting an OS from a CF card, that or flashing an image to the mSATA SSD might be my best bet.

Also the screen is a bit, uh, flickery… not a great sign. #MARCHintosh
