in some respects we are already there, with trans people being legislated out of public life in both countries and also, in some places and jobs in the US at least, being required to only wear clothing that society deems matches our “birth sex”.

And there have already been cases of pregnant people being arrested after miscarrying.

Not to mention a retired barrister being accosted in Parliament for simply using the toilet while being trans, and even after ensuring with parliamentary staff which toilets she was permitted to use.

Permitted to use!? Yes, we are now back to the 80s when trans and gender non conforming people (stone butch dykes for example) are getting UTIs because we are terrified of using public bogs.
