Cornbread really likes our morning walks because he has protection (me) and thus can venture farther than he would otherwise be comfortable with on top of being able to prowl around in the dark before the sun comes up.
He gets unsupervised outside time during the day but he doesn't go far (stays within a football field of the apartment).
Used to venture further when he was younger and more rambunctious, but now that he's outside of his teenage years he's become a lot calmer.
For the past several hours my door has been open and he's been free to come in and out. He's come out a bit, but he's mostly just been upstairs sleeping on my bed.
He is the first pet I've ever had that I don't have to worry about going outside and running off.
I spent a lot of time getting him used to the surrounding area outside when he was young, so he doesn't feel the need to venture off and explore much.
