I'm sorry, this narrative is all twisted. I grew up around there and remember this from before reagan killed journalism.
After years of requests by their Black neighbors, the Black mayor of Philly, Wilson Goode, did something about the MOVE house. MOVE had built a bunker on the roof and sat up there with megaphones, screaming their message at all hours of the day and night. For years. Everyone around them wanted them gone.
