My 29 year old niece went to the hospital in her hometown early this morning. Her white cell count was 9x normal. After some tests they suspect she has leukemia and has been transferred to a hospital 90 miles away for a bone marrow biopsy and treatment. They expect her to be there for up to 4 weeks. Providentally, that hospital is 6 blocks from my son's apartment.
