I reread your request, and need to disclaim: I think the list I have given you encompasses some documentaries I liked but would not consider *favorites*!
A *favorite*: "Rivers & Tides", the first Andy Goldsworthy documentary. Lots of quiet scenes where he's making art by a shore or in a forest. And then the sequel, "Leaning Into the Wind", had a moment of incredible suspense regarding an artistic choice.
