one that comes to mind is CITI’s early Apple networking code, back when you were still around. That code was open source and a company in the Bay Area (Kinetics) pounded it into a commercial AppleTalk/Ethernet gateway box that the university later bought tons of. This was seen as a big win for CITI and for the university.

I don’t remember what license Tim used for his LDAP code, do you?
