Unprofitable idea #5 sort of piggybacks on #4: even if you have a practitioner who doesn’t take insurance or you know is out of network, you still have an out of network out-of-pocket maximum, so ask your doc for a superbill and submit the claim!

(Yes, this is more along the lines of “take advantage of the shit your existing plan does”, because the system is so obtuse that most of us have no idea what we’re doing, so we probably overpay - that’s by design.)
