He's right in the sense that people don't know what is meant by 'love yourself'. I think he focused too much on what loving yourself first doesn't mean.
Unconditional love or as the Greeks called it, Agape is the key. To love yourself even with your unhealed traumas, your limiting beliefs & childhood conditioning. Love without conditions or expectations. To love yourself because you are a divine spark of creation & because you exist.
The only limiting belief you need to overcome is the belief that you are not worthy. This is a widely held belief & can only be resolved by going within.
The only external validation you need is the fact that you exist. If you weren't worthy of existence, you wouldn't be here playing a role in this divine play. To believe otherwise is to arrogantly believe that God made a mistake. That all the other creatures are divine & you're just an anomoly. What are the chances?
Get over yourself, you're uniquely divine but not special. You have a gift to share with the creatures of Earth, otherwise you wouldn't be here. Discover that gift, develop it & share it generously without conditions, separation is the greatest illusion.
