Maybe 15 years ago I recall reading a magazine article claiming that ADHD is a real condition that needs medication, but that we overprescribe kids for it and that doing so teaches kids to "automatically" reach for pills to solve their problems.
And wow, the fucked-up-ed-ness of this stance has stuck with me all these years.
