So I'll take ownership of my own failings. My recent snark and commentary has been about the #python community as I see more of those folks chatting about fleeing to #bluesky

I won't deny that this idea makes me sad. I like open protocols and platforms. They're a rare and beautiful thing that *I* personally feel are worth working for, using and promoting.

But I do understand that not everyone sees this the same way, and in particular lots of folks view social media as ephemeral and unimportant in the larger scheme.

Maybe they're right and I need to let go, but I don't think they are and I have no intention of doing so :)

I will be sad to see you all go, and I will probably check in there and keep in touch for those that abandon their presence here because you're a crazy smart bunch whose work I admire.
