Diary Note.
> Woken early morn by incomprehensible loud noise outside / above bedroom window, seemed to last several seconds, then total silence. Lay in bed befuddled wondering wtf happened, then began to doubt it & suspected it had been only a dream. Went back to sleep. Many hours later, after shower, still puzzled, went out the front to see if anything looked amiss. OMZ, the huge old pine tree has broken a huge huge branch, high up & close to its trunk, which then seems to have hinged downwards pivotting around the splinter that was still partly attached. Judging by its size, afaict it must have hit the roof but then continued falling down past that. Now said broken branch is almost vertical upside down, resting on ground vertically & leaning against many other ok branches wrt horizontal support. What to do? It's raining. Did it damage the roof, are any tiles broken or dislodged, am i gonna have a leak? Fsck, i'm going to have to call someone to help. Who, how? Fsck.
