Andrew Cuomo, who opposes New York City’s likely next mayor, Zohran Mamdani, weeps crocodile tears for “a single mother and her children [who] slept at a homeless shelter” while Mamdani lives in a $2300-per-month rent-controlled apartment.[1] Please do let that sink in for a minute.
Cuomo imagines that a homeless single mother can afford $2,300 per month in rent. He imagines that any working class person outside the skilled trades can afford $2,300 per month in rent.
But Cuomo paints Mamdani as a rich elitist.[2]
