To anyone who has been watching the evidence - including the generations of policy researchers who have for decades been waving the evidence around, burning out & withdrawing from the fray - this is bleeding obvious.
The Liberals under John Howard turned housing from necessary shelter to an inflationary scam. For decades, naming this was a sure way of making your voice & your work invisible in the policy arena. Political anathema.
Undoing the damage will take years. Every step will enrage those who have made Howard’s gravy train their business model.
