Having device support is necessary to test drive some of phosh (npub122d…rrm4) 's features for immutable as there are some limitations to what you can do in a VM and some problem's only come up in certain setups (like all the firmware issues on qcom) and you only get a "feel" if it works alright if you use it daily.
As one purpose is to make current development branches available easily targeting immutable is a good fit too as you can roll back without issues.
