Some people have suggested finger printing blockers. HOWEVER, the root cause seems to be something with the format of the images. Same file format, same image, same resolution, but one looks like your screenshot and one looks fine in the browser.
I don't actually know what the hang up is, but what ever it is, things like Krita seen to preserve the issue. However, if I force a rendered version to be created, by taking a screen shot, or some other method, it will display just fine.
