Paul Foster, Bethel, NY 1969.
Foster was one of the original Merry Pranksters and a founding member of the Hog Farm commune. Besides being immortalized in this famous shot featured in Life Magazine’s Woodstock issue, Paul is best known for illustrating the book Kesey's Garage Sale.
And, yes, that’s Jerry Garcia—middle ground left—following the intrepid Mr. Foster to the festival’s free stage.
