Sometimes Fatherly Serendipity strikes...
I had just given my son his probiotic which involves pulling a gel-cap apart. When I put the bottle back in the fridge I noticed a fly that had been trapped in the fridge and was moving very slowly. I quickly but gingerly snatched up the fly and put it in the gel-cap.
At bedtime I sang the song about the old lady that swallowed the fly. As we finished I asked them how they think she managed to swallow a fly, "After all, they are very fast and hard to catch let alone swallow." After letting them think on it for a minute, I deftly produced the gel-cap from my pocket and proclaimed to their astonishment, "This is how she swallowed the fly!" The 4 and 6 year old were amazed the 10 year old was revolted, the 13 year rolled her eyes. My beautiful bride refused to play the part of the old lady.
They still don't know how I managed to get a fly into a gel-cap, as far as they know I am a wizard.
