But even a dumb Bernie argument like "the BILLIONAIRES and CORPORATIONS are stealing from you by dragging their feet on raising your wages now that money is simply worth less than it was before. Your wages have been CUT IN HALF." would've resonated, and shill economists would've been happy to finally say something actually true for once, in support of this.
