Another associate of Andy Back is launching a new “use case” on Bitcoin that nobody asked for — certainly not the node runners who’ll be forced to store this “small amount of encrypted data” on their machines until they die. But don’t worry, the “small one-time” payment won’t go to the people actually bearing the storage and bandwidth costs. They’re just expected to take one for the team while the scammers continue diluting Bitcoin’s monetary properties and extracting whatever value is left from the protocol.

In the fiat world this is called rent-seeking.

Here’s a simpler example for the extra retarded people: imagine charging a toll for crossing a river while polluting it. You create no value. You degrade a shared resource while extracting fees from the people who depend on it. Everyone downstream pays the cost so a small group can skim profit off the top. It’s difficult to come up with a more parasitic use of a commons.

Then look at the replies from supposed Bitcoiners underneath this garbage. Hype. Congratulations. Cheering for the people actively turning Bitcoin into a landfill.

Embarrassing.

You thought spamming was over with the Ordtards waiving the white flag? Oh, my sweet summer children…
So I'm leaving Blockstream at the end of the month, to try to start up Century Metadata. A non -profit to store and serve a small amount of encrypted data for 100 years, for a small one -time payment. Lots of fun problems in doing this, only half of then technical.

I'll be talking about it at BTC++ in Vienna, and I'll also be attending the Oslo Freedom Forum just afterwards.
