Culturally, I'd agree. Mass monoculture started breaking down in the later 90's and by the 00's there wasn't a monoculture to mythologize. It's interesting that from the 1920's through the 90's each decade had an easily identifiable culture in fashion, music, and technology, and then suddenly, boom, it's just a mishmash.
