i don't have a problem with smartphones per se. they're little technological marvels, and more than anything i want one that's completely under my control out of the box. indeed, if i didn't have to deal with import bullshit with the Pinephone i'd have bought one of those already.
but a smartphone that's controlled by Google and/or its vendor, where i don't even have root and can't put my own OS on it? how fucking tedious that is...
