Structural straw bale has great thermal efficiency. Coupled with lime render (on the outside) and clay/lime render (on the inside, for high thermal mass) it's a solution that doesn't require membranes and allows water vapour to pass through.

It can also be coupled with a passive solar design. But you need to get the fitting just right unless it's as a separate sun room.
