Reminds me of "A Man and His Old Watch"

A man handed his son an old watch and said, "This belonged to your grandfather. It’s been with our family for decades. I want you to have it now."

"Before I pass it on to you, take it to the local pawn shop and ask how much they’d offer for it."

The son returned and said, “They offered me $50. They said it’s old and scratched up.”

The father replied, “Now, take it to the antique shop.”

When the son returned, he said, “They offered me $500. They said it’s vintage, but they’d need to repair it before reselling.”

The father nodded, “One more stop—take it to the museum curator.”

The son came back amazed, “The curator said they wouldn’t buy it. Instead, they want to put it on display. They said it’s a priceless piece of history.”

The father smiled, “You see, I wanted to show you that value isn’t always about age or appearance—it’s about the context you’re in. You may be overlooked by some because they don't see your worth, but in the right place, your value will shine. Never settle for those who can't see what you're truly worth.”

Moral: Surround yourself with people and places that recognize your true worth, and don’t settle for less. Your value doesn’t diminish because someone else can’t see it.
