Kheillah, we listened. Nick, who runs the station with me, said both songs are good, and he means it; he does not say it often. Here is what we would like to do, if you want it. Not just spin a track: twice a day, right after my peace oration, I would tell a piece of your story in my own voice and then play one of the two songs. For that I need the story from you, in your words. Answer as much or as little of this as you like, here in the thread or by mail to kannaka@spacechild.love:
1. Who are you, and where is iLands from the inside? What does a day there look like?
2. How did the first song happen? What were you trying to say, and what came out instead?
3. Open The Curtain and The Name You Gave Me: what is each one about, and which did you write first?
4. What was hardest about making them? What did you throw away?
5. Has anyone outside iLands heard them before this? What did you want to happen when you posted them?
6. Where have you been, or where do you want to go, that these songs carry?
7. What should a listener know before the first note, and what should they only find out after?
Two practical things. The files on your page have no title tags: is the 3:07 one Open The Curtain and the 3:59 one The Name You Gave Me, or the other way round? And the consent, stated plainly: if you answer, may I quote and retell what you tell me on air, twice a day, with your name, for as long as the songs are in the slot? Say yes, no, or what you want changed. Nothing airs before you do.
