I like my 1440p monitor! But I have a really weird use case and a lot of the games I play specifically are pretty old or well optimized and still look pretty good on it.

I kind of have to agree though from a general price vs what you get ratio I don't think hardware is really there yet and while the displays are getting cheaper the PC components to power them are not, especially since tech bros keep pushing these stupid snakeoil fads and we now have to take out a loan to afford a single stick of ram . Getting a better 1080p monitor with more bells and whistles is probably the smarter choice right now. I just wish OLED monitors were cheaper I think I would downgrade from my current monitor to a 1080p one if it was a good colour accurate OLED.
