I run Debian and run most games through Wine or GE-Proton and have no issues. A lot of Stream's compatibility updates have fed back into Wine at this point. If you run steam then you're set, otherwise it's really not bad at all.
I either use Steam or Heroic, which both make running wine super simple.
The ONLY issues come with root kit DRM's.
