Is this a good time to mention that even among the left, people *rampantly* use ableist terms like "stupid", "dumb", "moron", "idiot", etc.? These are just the r-word, lite. Try to tell someone it's ableist and they will blow you off, argue with you, call you stupid, or block you -- even people who vociferously oppose the various -isms including ableism. Never mind that most of these synonyms have a long history of being used in particular to describe, insult, and dehumanize non-verbal autistic people and people with intellectual disabilities.
