Kauai's near-banishment of AirBNB has worked. I have an extra room that I and my late partner had been using as a guest room. I decided to rent it out and if AirBNB were allowed I would've done that for the income potential. But the county decided several years ago that short-term rentals were exacerbating a very tight housing market & so voted to make the minimum lease extend for at least six months. I just rented it to a couple, one of them is #disabled, and they were ecstatic.
