Rather than one massive database which will inevitably leak, be misused or hacked the NHS should take a look at Mastodon and the Fediverse generally. Make each GP surgery an 'instance' where a patients' notes are held but allow other authorised instances (clinics/hospitals etc) to read old notes and add new ones. If the protocol is made available to all then there can be genuine competition to provide hardware and software. No need for one huge single point of failure. #NHS #Streeting
