The nose dive was actually no problem for the one scientific instrument onboard SLIM (which primarily a technology demonstration mission).

The single remaining engine still brought the spacecraft to a gentle landing on its nose, and the multiband spectroscopic camera actually had a cracking view.

SLIM analysed ALL THE ROCKS, and found olivine, thought to originate from the Moon's deep interior (papers pending).
