There seems to be support for firmware upgrades, touchkey calibration, and raw data support in the downstream driver, but I’m unsure if that will be necessary in the mainline kernel. IIRC the tm2 driver doesn’t have that support
Since I’m essentially the only user of this phone, I think I’ll put that in the backlog for now
