There are alternatives. Depending on the use case of course: Klarna, Revolut, Trade Republic, Wero, Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Venmo, etc. (just to name a few)
It might not be as convenient or you might need two apps to cover everything PayPal offers, but you can switch.
