one can take an even bigger step back and imagine the future history books vilifying Enlightenment as the ungodly perversion poisoning humanity with the bad genes and that the Allied victory in WW2 was fortunately only a temporary setback on the way of restoring the rightful order. Sometimes I think we're in the beginning of that path — saying that "the Nazis were the good guys" is maybe not yet quite the mainstream Republican position but definitely not the taboo anymore.
