Famous place-name scholar Per Vikstrand and I just submitted a two-page note to a good journal about the settlement history of Erstavik. This is the Medieval manor on whose former lands I've lived almost my entire life. I'm very pleased with what we came up with.
The question we're answering is simple. Why are there two hamlet sites on the manor's core land, but three hamlet names? The answer may astonish you!!!
