I used to love this kind of work. Very rewarding. Especially with something like oak. 🌳🧡

My biggest project was making two separate rooms with herringbone parquet flooring, separated by a wall, into one room.
Most of the wooden blocks had to be taken up, the subfloor remade level, then the blocks relaid as if it had always been a single large room.
A previous home owner had covered the wooden floors with carpet.

It's nice when you get a client that is happy to spend money on the huge amount of time and effort it takes to do a good job.

You don't want one of those big sanding belts to snap though. 💥
