Well it's no Marantz, but I grabbed this Kenwood 103AR (circa 1997) for 50 cuckbucks on Craigslist this evening.

For the price, I'm stoked. Sounds *good*
Shortly after streaming yesterday my Marantz 2220b gave up the ghost. 2A fuse toasted. Some internal short. Maybe a cap. Maybe a transistor. I am sadly unable to fix it.

So I started looking for newer equipment and I am sooooo disappointed.

I literally just want an analog experience. Phono in. Tape out (or record out is fine).

Maybe I'm picky, but I also want bass/mid/treble controls on the face, not in a menu accessible only by remote.

Bluetooth is nice, but unnecessary. Enhanced digital bullshit is also unnecessary.

To get what I want should be cheap AF, but is unfortunately such a boutique ask these days that these basic functions only appear on super high-end systems.

So I bought the Denon PMA-600NE. It has what I want along with an analog button that cuts all digital processing out.

It does not, however, get great reviews and costs over 500 cuck bucks.

It will be here Friday. But I have half a mind to just go to the thrift store and see what folks are throwing out.
