I very quickly restored the pagoda. This was a three hour project-- super fast. The antique gold was generously painted on first work a tiny brush to cover dings and chips (we can call this my gilt trip):

The shelf was in battered condition. Now you know that did not deter ME, not even one little bit. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought the most magical stuff: a small jar of antique gold gilding paint and a tube of Spanish copper metallic wax. Can I tell you how awesome this stuff is?
