Saw it as an adult and hated it. I know it's meant to be full of symbolism and not "serious", but I had a visceral reaction and decided to stop watching it intently...I was at a girlfriend's house, with her and her sister (they also hadn't seen it before) and I kept getting up to go in the kitchen and get coffee/snacks...and their kids and dogs were running all over, so it was chaotic anyway, and no one cared that I wasn't glued to the couch.
