COSMIC development has already led to accessibility improvements for the Linux desktop with Wayland, and for accessibility support in GUI app development with iced. Its also led to improvements in Wayland protocols and Wayland compositors using Smithay. I can tell you've not used, developed for, or looked at COSMIC. Username certainly checks out.
