Reading is something that takes place in the context of the technology it uses and the meaning we assign to it.
Growing up in a world of print books, falling in love with books and their ideas through that medium, means that I see print books as more real than ebooks. The medium is the message.
Ebooks are symbolic of the capture of a profound, multi-faceted pleasure by an alien corporate technology that wants to reduce it to mere content. I want none of it.
