I see it as a race to the bottom because if Trump J6's his political foes, like they did his allies, his political foes will J6 + more their political foes when it's their turn. And the cycle will become worse. None of it is good.

As to how to force a standard on others? I'm not sure. But there's gotta be a better way than to simply disregard any standards at all.
