I've watched about a third (I will watch the rest), and I can see where it may be going.
It hasn't really changed my views, no.
There are basically two sensible ways IMHO:
1. Keep things simple. It won't be great for everything, but at least you'll understand it.
2. Define clear boundaries, and create well-defined interfaces between them. Then you can build complex systems.
Systemd somehow manages to do neither. And speaking from experience with doing...
