Sadly, I think the time has come to abandon #NixOS after many months, and go back to Ubuntu. There are many things I love about the Nix world, enough for me to spend long hours trying to make it work, and it's a fun intellectual exercise, but I think it's clear that, as Saruman would say, "You have chosen the way of pain".
