Even now, I'd say it's in place enough. And I wonder. Do we have any historical precedence for toppling a fascist regime without requiring war, and from a third party at that? I guess all the revolutions were internal, without necessarily needing a third party to liberate them, but still required war, didn't they? The French revolution is the closest one I can think of, where the people being overthrown truly occupy the same territory as you do, rather than being ruled from a distant land. But is the comparison between monarchies in that way and fascism stable enough? Because if we require a third party to liberate us, we're doomed. And otherwise, ultimately people need to acknowledge that at this point, civil war is almost certainly the only way and begin mobilizing while they're still putting all the things in place. And in the resulting conflict, I fear that homebound, disabled people like me will be swept away.
