Researchers studied nearly 2 million people across 160 countries and found that giving a kid a smartphone before age 13 wrecks their mental health.
Girls who got phones at age 5 were 20% more likely to report suicidal thoughts later in life than those who waited until age 13.
Early users also reported hallucinations, aggression, and feeling detached from reality - all before they hit college.
Study says phones crush confidence, empathy, and emotional stability.
So yeah… maybe hold off on that iPhone for your 8-year-old.
