It turns out making your own Google Analytics alternative is hard AF.
- What counts as a page view?
- What counts as a bounce?
- How do you measure time?
- What happens to views that come from the same IP when they go back to a page they already visited?
It's ridiculous, the amount of thought you have to put in to decide how to count things. And then there's the math. I suck at math, so I'm positive all my numbers are wrong.
I've had fun, but IDK if I'll ever be able to trust my app.
