Well we are supposed to go back by 2026. We should have gone back by 2020 latest, but Obama scrapped the project that Bush started.
Now Trump started another Moon mission and I'm waiting for Biden to scrap it.
I believe we went. Unfortunately, the moon has nothing of value other than a leaping point for Mars...so we haven't gone back because there is no point to go.
