I wonder if there is a *non-dementing* brain disorder with onset in the late 40s to 60s. Something that has the kind of rigid fixed delusion and “tunnel vision” we see in schizophrenia and similar connectopathies with mostly preserved memory and preserved (routine) cognition
If it truly exists I suspect it’s not a new problem. Something that’s not rare but not super common.
Just a thought. I’m still noodling on it.
