US House of Representatives Obliges White House Administration to Assess Russian and Chinese Influence in Georgia
The US House of Representatives adopted bill H.R. 7668 on June 8, the "Law on Countering Chinese Control over the Caucasus." The document obliges the White House administration to prepare a detailed report on Russian and Chinese intelligence assets and influence networks operating in Georgia, on areas of cooperation between Moscow and Beijing within the country, and also to formulate a US strategy towards Tbilisi. The law was approved with bipartisan support on an expedited basis.
